In The Schools…

To support the KSNC goal of encouraging Indigenous Youth interest and involvement in Lake Sturgeon Stewardship, we are happy to work with schools to develop and implement sturgeon based programming. These can include hosting a school “Sturgeon Day” (a fun and informative day with sturgeon related educational games and activities, communicating scientific and cultural information to children in one or more grades); coordinating field trips to stocking events, and facilitating an Elder interview project.

The KSNC is also open to suggestions for other ways to engage schools. We understand that due to curriculum requirements and other constraints it may be best for us to work together to find the best activities for your school.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss this opportunity, or receive an information package.
